Motivated by a profound love for his ancestral land and blessed with the luxury
of free time, Christos Papathanos transformed his dream into reality.
In 2017, he founded KARYON Farm together with his children..
Dissatisfied with the local royal walnuts in terms of quality and yield, he embarked on a quest for alternatives. Initiating the venture on 20 acres of private land, he introduced 500 Chandler variety walnuts from Dordogne, France. Subsequently acquiring and enhancing an additional 55 hectares, he systematically planted them with the same superior variety. Presently, three estates spanning 75 hectares boast a thriving orchard of 1,300 high-quality walnut trees.
